Private transfer from Tbilisi Airport (TBS) to Gudauri

The drive from Tbilisi International Airport (TBS) to Gudauri is 138 km and takes ≈ 2 h 20 min without stops. Going along the Georgian Military Road, you can add sights on the way: with all four stops the route is 167 km, and with visits the day comes to about 5 h 15 min.

Route and stops

• Jvari Monastery — 40 km from the airport — a 6th-century church above the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, a UNESCO site with a fine view over Mtskheta (≈ 40 min).
• Svetitskhoveli Cathedral — 52 km — an 11th-century cathedral in the center of Mtskheta, one of Georgia's most important holy sites and a UNESCO site (≈ 40 min).
• Ananuri Fortress Complex — 99 km — a 17th-century fortress with two churches on the shore of the Zhinvali Reservoir, good for photos (≈ 35 min).
• Russia–Georgia Friendship Monument — 162.5 km — a viewing platform with mosaic panels at the edge of the gorge, with views over the Daryal Gorge (≈ 15 min).

From the last stop it is another 4.5 km to Gudauri.

Season and road notes

In summer the road is open and Gudauri is a good stop along the Military Road. In winter, traffic on the Jvari Pass may be restricted or chains may be required, and the drive takes longer on snowy days. We recommend an all-wheel-drive vehicle in winter, such as the Land Rover Discovery Sport, and checking road conditions before departure.
